The Value of Keeping an Open Mind . . .

I mentioned in my last post about the woman with the "toe" running shoes. What I forgot to mention is how much she "believed" in them, and because of her "faith" in the product and her "belief" that anyone could benefit from running in such shoes, she didn't hesitate to give me her toe-shoe "testimony".

Running in these new shoes is a new idea based on a concept that shouldn't be that difficult to accept--God Got It Right the First Time when our Feet were Designed! Her "testimony" was based on the personal experience that training pains went away when she started using them. The question, would that be enough to get me to try them?

I bring this up because my book, Maitreya, though fiction, introduces a radical "toe-shoe" idea that perhaps there is more to the Christian story of Christ on the Cross, more that can help us understand the transition that is about to take place as we, the Bride of Christ, anticipate Jesus' return and the establishment of the coming Kingdom.

A reader of Maitreya can enjoy the story without believing that Maitreya is a major player along with Jesus, the Apostles, and all the other important historical biblical figures. Believing in Maitreya isn't important, but having enough of an Open Mind to at least consider the possibility is important because that's the mechanism by which we grow spiritually.
